Ingredients:

  • 1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup or 4 tbsp.)
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 box Kelloggs Crispix (12.3 oz.)
  • 1/2 bottle Furikake (Nori & goma, no salt)
    or
  • 1/8 c. ao nori (green nori)
  • 1/8 c. sesame seeds

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
1.  Heat margarine, soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, and oil until sugar dissolves.
2.  Pour sugar mixture over cereal in a large bowl.  Mix well until cereal is lightly coated.
3.  Sprinkle furikake (or ao nori and sesame seeds) evenly over cereal and mix well.
4.  Lightly coat two large pans with oil or Pam.  Spread cereal mixture onto pans.
5.  Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, mixing every 15 minutes.
This snack also makes for great gifts or party favors. I designed cute holiday labels to package the gifts and put the mix inside a 1/2 quart zip loc bag, attaching the labels with double stick tape. It took a while to finish them all but it was worth it!
