Sangria with Pineapple and Guava

Thirsty for some sangria? This light and delicious drink is a big hit when hosting parties. Original recipe calls for rosé wine, but I found that an inexpensive bottle of Carlo Rossi Sangria works just fine. This is not a strong drink, so if you prefer something with a little more kick try adding some rum.  I usually double the recipe for larger parties, and it always goes out fast!

Sangria with Pineapple and Guava

Recipe adapted from bon appetit

Ingredients

  • 1 750-ml bottle rosé or Carlo Rossi Sangria found at local grocery stores
  • 4 6-ounce cans pineapple juice
  • 2 11 1/2-ounce cans guava nectar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups 3/4-inch cubes fresh pineapple
  • 2 oranges, halved through stem end, thinly sliced crosswise
  • Ice cubes

Directions

1. Mix wine, pineapple juice, cinnamon sticks, and cubed pineapple into a large bowl.

2. Set 12 orange slices aside for garnish, then add remainging slices to the pitcher. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight.

I chose to serve my sangria in a punch bowl, but you can also serve from a glass pitcher. Fill your cup with ice, fill with sangria and garnish with orange slice. Drink up!
